Bonds of Sea and Fire - Xenogears

"I'm Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end. The first and the last"

When i first saw those lines, i thought "Whoo boy, this game will be filled with biblical references...". And Lo, it is. Almost all of the popular names from Westerner's version of Bible are in (Abel, Cain, etc...) as well as some reference to Judaism, Kaballah, heck, even pop culture thrown inside.

Some of the songs are influenced (mostly) by Irish tunes, although some of them also take some nod to Middle Eastern, and (of course) Gospel. One of my favorite song is Bonds of Sea and Fire, the song with most versions within the game (Yggdrassil's Theme and Aveh City's theme, for example).

The first song is a vocal, fan-version sung by Erutan (katethegreat19). The vocals are supposed to be in the language of Aveh (fictional nation in Xenogears). Since the spoken lines only take places in battles and CG movies, let us settle with this.

The second song is instrumental, fan-version by BitSymphony. This version, in my opinion, is the softest version of Bonds of Sea and Fire to me. It is also the reason why I use this version for my blog's background music.

Shadowlord - Nier Replicant & Gestalt

"Weiss, you dumbass! Start making sense you rotten book or you're gonna be sorry. Maybe I'll rip your pages out one by one, or maybe I'll put you on the God damn furnace! How can someone with such a big smart brain get hypnotized like a little bitch huh? Oh Shadowlord, I love you Shadowlord. Come over here and give Weiss a big sloppy kiss Shadowlord. Now pull your head out of your ass and START FUCKING HELPING US!"

Yes. Those lines are actually said in the game opening and in game by Kaine, one of the protagonists in Nier. Some people may think Nier is not suited to be a PS3 game because of its outdated graphics, but i beg to differ. What makes Nier different are the musics and Cavia's trademark storyline, where the best ending is always a bittersweet one.
