Vampires~

A PILE OF MISERABLES EXISTENCE! (by Dracula)

"Vampires that glows in the sun? What are they, daylight fireflies?!"

(I swear i'm gonna be mobbed by angry Twilight fanbase because of this...) But honestly. After the successful movie adaptation of "Bram Stoker's Dracula" by Francis Ford Coppola and Anne Rice's "Interview With the Vampire" by Neil Jordan, I've yet to find another good vampire movies that carries the spirit of the supposedly Gothic horrors and feels of a vampire. Blade and Underworld series doesn't do the job for me, either...

When i heard about Twilight, i thought that it will be something like John Carpenter's Dracula wannabe or close to that, but NOhohoho... Triangle love stories that crossed species differentiation, feuds between different factions (the only cool thing about it), love drama (the bad thing about it), bishounens (Edward, anyone?), and...GLOWING VAMPIRES?!...It kills my intention to watch it, really.

If the 'old school vampires' or 'Dracula' considered to be overused, then why not using, or even better, creates a new one? There's Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla (which i doubt to be appropriate, since it also dabbled in that lesbian thingy...) or even F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu (a not-so-creative 'rip-off' from Dracula...~3~). If you're going for bishies, heck, Alucard (personal refferences, har-har!) fits the role!

Until then, Konami's Castlevania series that keeps it faithfully Gothic (at least for me...) will be my only ideal example of what a vampire movie should be...
